The Russian Revolution

The Russian Revolution was time were the people got fed-up and did something about the way they live. The Russians had the revolution so they bring in a new form of living and not be poor also the same. The used communisim as the best way of living. The quote "Peace, land, and bread" means the way of there living.
The Czich was the King and was taken out and his family by the leaders of the revolution. The causes of the Revolution was mainly WW 1 because people waere dying. Also people were hungry and couldnt wait any longer for food because of the sortage of food.

World War 1 was a very strong war. It was casused by many things including nationalism, militirism, and the assissnation of arch duke ferdinad. When Germany started paying mof for its military. Great Britian, France, and Russia try to deffend themselves. Germany started because killed the Arch duke. this cause the war but Germany ultimatly lost.

The Opium Wars

The opium wars was battle between China and Britain. The Chinese were fighting so the opium would stop coming into the country because it cost was very high and it gave some bad side affects to some people. Britain fought because they wanted the tea from China so they needed more ports to trade instead of the only port available which was Canton. This lasted from 1839 to about 1842 (3 years). It was called the opium wars because they were fighting over the trade of opium.
During these three years of battling many things happened. The Chinese would take the opium coming in and destroyed it. Also they would kill anyone who tyred to sell opium. Capetian Charles Elliot tried to get a letter to Queen Victoria. The letter never made it to England because his messenger was killed by some sailors in China. In the three year span Britain won the war because of there advanced technology. They made china sign a treaty that enabled china to give the British more ports and legalise the opium.

In the movie "Mountains of the Moon" some hardships the Europeans faced while traviling was being killed by the locals but mostly the disese from the water or the Misquitos. It is sort of strange that the source of the Nile river is called Lake Victoria is weird because it already has a name but the Europeans just call it lake Victoria.
The technologicly advance that the British had over the Africans was that the British had many many guns and the Africans had spears. This is why the British eventualy won because the British created the machine gun which shot faster than a spear.

The Meiji Restoration of Japan

The Meji Restoration was when japan started to become more aware of the inventions that were made. In Japan Matthey Perry tried to sign a tready to stop the wars from both Countries. These treaty was suposed to help both countries and europe would get some goods from Japan. He forced them and it came to belong to europe until the middle of the 20th century.

Karl Marx and Communism

Karl Marx was a man born in Tier, Prussia Which is known as Germany in 1818. He was one of the founders to Communism. Communism is a way of living were everyone gets paid the same even if the work was different. Like for example a doctor and a factory worker get paid the same amount of money. Also that people were not able to own their land or houses. These were some of the ideas that were created by Karal Marx.

Marx wanted Communism to take over the world so then everyone would be on the same level as everyone else. There was no balance of power so then the workers would get mistreated by the owners. Also a lot of people supported the ideas of Communism these were mostly workers who didn't get the money they deserved. This is why he wanted Communism to take over the world.

The "good guys" Marx is talking about are the factory workers who didn't like the way they were being treated because Marx wanted them to have the people to have the power. The "Bad Guys" are the Factory owners who controlled everything that happens in the factory because they controlled most of the workers.

Karl Marx and the Industrial Revolution

Karl Marx was a man born in Germany on the 5th of May. He was the founder of Commission. That started during the industrial revolution which was a time when factories were forcing kids to work. Marx didn't relly like it he hated it. He thought that the workers should be the one controlling farms and factories. The Reason of this hatred of factories and the industrial revolution was the way the factory treated people and Didn't treat the kids nicely. Also people would sometimes die or not get paid very well.
This inspired him because he saw all the pain and suffering he wanted to help the workers and asked them to revolt and started this very famous religion or following that people took this by. This caused people to lose money if they had factories. This was life Karl Marx who created Communisms.

Nationalism and the Creation of Italy

Nationalism is when a group of people like little sates or countrys combine to be there own separate place or government. For example like if some little city's in an empire don't want to be control ed by the empire combine and leave to form new countries. I think I am Nationalistic because I don't want to be controlled by a big empire I want to be my own person then being tolled what to do. I also sing the country's national song and have the flag of were I am from.

Nationalism was used to create the country Italy because before it used to be controlled by the Austrio-Hungarian Empire. Then what happened was some people decided to stop and think. They got together and took down the Austrio-Hungarian Empire. Before Italy was a City State controlled by the Austrian Empire And was doing Horrible. It become Italy because people in Italy contacted for help from there biggest city which was a kingdom it was called Piedmont-Sardinia which helped drive out the Austrians to get there own country. This happened because Italy didn't want to be part of the Austrio-Hungarian Empire.

Simon Bolivar and Latin American Revolutions

The Latin American Revolution started with one person. His name is Simon Bolivar. He was the best Latin American general ever. His parents died when he was young and inherited lots of money. He was born in Venezuela on July 24, 1783. He left for Europe and came back and joined a army of patriots to take control over the Spaniards who had control over Caracas in 1810. Then he left for great Britain to take some more troops to help. He came back and gained control over the Spaniards again in 1813. He is famous for liberating most of Latin America. He also became the first president of Ecuador, Colombia, Panama, and Venezuela. "Like gorge Washington but in Latin America".

Simon Bolivar has a country named after him and it is called Bolivia. He got this country because some of his friends created this place in his honor. He joined a band of patriots that helped take control of Caracas. He liberated Colombia by defeating the Spaniards at Boyar in 1819. Also while in Hatti he gathered some people up and took control of Angostura which is now Ciudad Bolivar. While this was happening he also became a powerful dictator. He was fighting for the rights and territory of his people. he was influenced by what happened in America and in Europe.

Robespierre's and The Reign of Terror

The reign of terror was time were no one was safe. People who tried to revolt would get executed by getting there heads get cut off by a guillotine this was a very famous french killing device. One man named Max Robespierre he was a ruthless dictator he didn't want no one to take power. He was the one who decided to take out the queen Marie Antoinette. In front of everyone. Also king Louis the VI.

This was all started because people didn't want no one to over throw the government. Gangs were getting started because people had as much power as the anyone who use to have more power. To get executed it only took one accusation and you could go to the guillotine. This created controversy because you could friends with Max and go to guillotine for no reason. This made France a bad place to live so the people decided to over throw Max. They arrested him and then they executed him. This was the end of the reign of terror. This was a good time a new type of government was created and it was called the Directory controlled by five men. Out of this came one General Napoleon.

The French Revolution

1. The french people were mad at the clurgy,nobles, and the king because the king and everyone else cheated on the frnch people and always voted them out when in politics.
2. A french person might be grumbling about how he might revolt against the king and everyone else who stood in there way.
3. In the picture the cartoonist was thinking abiut how the nobles, clergy, and kings would control the people and make them do what ever they want. The people want this to end.
4. The author describes the life of the peasent to be horible because they are poor and dont have that much tax to pay.
5. The three sources of information describe that the peasents resented the rich because they get more money, they keep raiseing taxes, they use them for no good reason. this makes it hard to live the life style.
6. The people who mostly would influenced are the french people because they want that same type of goal so then they dont want to pay taxes.
7. Source D was banned in 1775 because it would influnce people to have a democratic government. The people who didnt want it were the wealthy nobles, the clergy, and the king because they diddnt want no one to be able to revolt.

John Locke and "The Enlightenment"

In the 2nd paragraph of the Decleration of Independence the laws that Jefferson is talking about how we chose a new leader. Also how there would be no dictator ever in the colines. The government or laws can not be changed. That if one govenment goes bad we could chose to abolish that government. Also that we have certain rights to control our counry. This is what Jefferson was talking about in the 2nd paragraph.
The government's ideas come from a man named Jhon Locke. He was a man who influenced modern Government that we see today. Jeferson took his ideas from him and created the decleration of independence. John Locke was the one who influenced him to wright the D.O.I. The government comes from the people. If ir screws up. It is our job to help it get fixed. We are the government not some famous King or Queen. Thats the way the goverment comes from and is controled.

Copernicus and the trial of Galileo

There are two theory's about the solar systems. They are the geocentric theory were people thought that the earth was the center of the universe.Heliocentrism is the second which people thought that the sun was the center of the universe. This word comes the Greek word Helio meaning that the Sun is in the center. The one that came first before the scientific revolution was geocentric. This came from a person named Copernicus who studied the earth but not to extent. He told that to Catholic Church and it seemed people believed it. Heliocentrism came second and after the scientific revolution.
A man named Galileo went on trial because he discovered that the earth revolves around the sun. When the Catholic Church found out they told him not to continue or support the theory. In a book he wrote it said he supported the theory. In so doing so the Church put him on trial. The Church be lived anything the bible said about how the earth is the center of the universe and Galileo be lived in facts. He was put on house arrest for the rest of his life. The trial seemed to be short something this big.

Scientific Revolution: The Scientific Method

The scientific method is way to determine whether something is true or not. People use this method to help understand there surroundings. There was a person named Galileo who disproved the theory that heavy objects fall at different speeds then a smaller objects. There are 5 steps to this method.
This method has been around for at least 500 years. Before that people would just go to the old Greeks info to get the answer. Aristotle was a famous scientist who thought that everything revolved around world. Then the Scientific method came into play and everything was dis proven until there were facts. An example is if i am trying to find is how big is my building if I were prove that it would take a long time because there would be allot of measuring. Down here is the method to the scientific method.
1. You find what your problem is.
2. You get your hypothesis
3. Use the hypothesis to make the procedure.
4. Test evreything out.
5. Keep trying to get it right so you dont have to do anything anymore.

Evolution v.s Creation

The Darwin's theory of Evolution is that we came from one little organism and grew from multiplying or breeding. He has a few theory's about evolution. The one I just wrote about at the top was the basic theory. The slowly but Surely theory is that he thinks that evolution took millions of years to create man. The last theory is the theory of crisis. Darwin thinks that if something happens like a line that breaks and instead of going straight it go's up or down. This seems to be Darwin's theory of evolution.
The theory of creation is about that God created man and everything just like that. That there was no evolution what so ever. The theory of Genesis talks about how the young Earth just came to be and everything around it. This created controversy when the United States in 1929 when some states passed a law that made some schools not teach the theory of evolution. In 1960 they took it out of the text books.
I think that the theory of Evolution is the best theory it has more proof. Look the earth evolved by creating the o-zone layer. Also little life forms were formed by cells that multiplied. which caused more to be created. The theory of creationism doesn't seem to be correct because there is not that much proof or way this could happen. something has to be there it grow.
